- Late work penalties will not apply to Modules 1-8. Late work penalties will resume with Module 9 - keep me posted if this is an issue due to Hurricane Michael.
- If your county is one of over 30 districts in the state that was declared a federal disaster zone as a result of Hurricane Florence and chose to take advantage of the General Assembly's offer to waive 10 or 20 days, your grade book has been edited to meet the waivers and you as well as your parents and school have been notified by email. You will notice that you are part of a 10 Day Modified or a 20 Day Modified section within our course if you are in one of those 30 counties. It will not change your work - it is there to help me and other stakeholders know your circumstances.

Today's Assignments:
- Module 9 Lesson 2 Notes/CYK
- Module 9 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
Module 9 Lesson 2 Notes/CYK
Lesson 2 is about internal obstacles. Your notes include the following topics: Internal Obstacles, Fear of Failure, Anxiety and Stress, Perfectionism and Apathy, Intolerance, Lacking Confidence, Rejection, Facing the Future, and How Leaders Handle Internal Obstacles. Thank you for posting a screenshot that includes identifying information - I need to see which quiz you took.
Module 9 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
As you did for your Lesson 1 Practice Activity, refer back to the notes before writing your reflection. How can you use the information about fear of failure, anxiety, stress, etc. to show you understand the notes? Discussing an internal obstacle can be more difficult than discussing an external one - remember that only I will see your post.

Need inspiration? Being a leader is very demanding. When you have (or feel like you have) the largest part of the responsibility, you can have trouble motivating yourself as well as others. One way to push through internal obstacles is to look at how others have done so. How do you push through when you see things differently? Check out a few examples of individuals who became leaders by pushing through their obstacles:
- It is interesting that failure actually led Vincent Van Gogh to be an artist. He tried being a teacher, a minister, and an art dealer before he began painting.
- Walt Disney suffered financial setbacks before he found success. He lost millions of dollars trying to create his empire. But it was the internal obstacles that were the most difficult to handle - suffered from depression and fits of rage. If only we saw our hero's failures each time we saw the successes, we would see our own failures as growth.
- Albert Einstein experienced the obstacle of self-doubt. In elementary school, he was not a great student because he did not fit the standards for academic success during his time. He did not like to memorize things and had issues with language mechanics. Both teachers and students called him names and characterized him as "slow." After years of being treated poorly, he found his calling when he came across an Algebra book. The rest is history...and a great example of a leader overcoming an internal obstacle.
