Hurricane Florence Make-Up Guidelines - UPDATED
- Students with missing work should begin with the current module and then complete missing work once the current module is done. Remember to use daily announcements for current as well as for missing work - use your resources!
- Late work penalties will not apply to Modules 1-8. Late work penalties will resume with Module 9.
- If your county is one of over 30 districts in the state that was declared a federal disaster zone as a result of Hurricane Florence and chose to take advantage of the General Assembly's offer to waive 10 or 20 days, your grade book has been edited to meet the waivers and you as well as your parents and school have been notified by email. You will notice that you are part of a 10 Day Modified or a 20 Day Modified section within our course if you are in one of those 30 counties. It will not change your work - it is there to help me and other stakeholders know your circumstances.

Today's Assignment:
- Module 8 Lesson 1 Assignment
Module 8 Lesson 1 Assignment
Ever wondered what it would be like if a someone from the past met someone from today? What would they discuss? What advice would they offer one another? Today's assignment is your chance to bring together the past with the present by planning out a dinner party and crafting a dialogue between global leaders. There will be 3 leaders attending your dinner party - the leader you researched in yesterday's practice activity and a current leader we did not study in Lesson 1 (no sports figures or celebrities, please).
Tips:
- Before you plan your dinner party, research the current leader you chose - you may use the template from the practice activity as a guide but you are not required to turn in your research about your second leader.
- Now that you have researched both leaders attending your dinner party, consider who you would send in for a cameo to make the conversation more lively or just to add a flare of fun - which other global leader from Lesson 1 would have something to say and/or share with your main 2 leaders?
- Download the template and complete each section of the dinner party plan.
- Write out the dialogue that would take place between these the past and the current leaders. Use your research about both main leaders to guide your composition of a conversation.
- Your dialogue must clearly show you understand the topic (i.e. war, terrorism, civil disobedience).
- Be sure to share your knowledge of how global leaders use leadership skills/styles/themes. What are specific pieces of advice your leaders can offer?
- Be creative and let your inner playwright shine through!
