This week you will be using a new web 2.0 tool called Storybird. It has amazing illustrations and is a great tool to express yourself. Enjoy this tool as you explore your external and internal obstacles. Here is a quick tutorial to help you with your Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 assignments:
As always, if you have trouble with Storybird, please reach out and I will suggest an alternative application.

Welcome to Module 9!This week you will explore the external and internal obstacles that affect your leadership journey. Fears and failures can prevent you from moving forward - you will learn how to use your leadership skills to face these obstacles head-on.
Today's Assignments:
- Module 9 Pre-Assessment
- Module 9 Lesson 1 Notes
- Module 9 Lesson 1 Assignment
It only takes a few minutes to pre-assess your knowledge of obstacles to leadership - take the 5-question pre-assessment to help you preview Module 9's content.
Module 9 Lesson 1 Notes
Lesson 1 is External Obstacles. The notes include the following topics:
Your Many Roles, What are External Obstacles, How to Balance Roles and Obstacles, External Obstacles for Leaders, How to Overcome a Lack of Resources, How to Overcome a Lack of Creativity, How to Overcome Life Changes and Transitions, and Team Leader Overcomes Obstacles. Read through the notes - remember to use the guided notes template if you need it. Post a screenshot of your CYK answers as your assignment. Be sure your screenshot includes identifying quiz information so it is clear which CYK you took.
Module 9 Lesson 1 Assignment
Pick an external obstacle (one that you have not overcome yet). Using the notes as well as your leadership skills, decide how you can overcome it. To start your plan, write out the steps you will take to overcome your obstacle. For each step, find 2 suggestions from the notes to help you. Then tell the story of how you will overcome it. You are encouraged to use Storybird - it has great visuals and it allows you to create an online book. If Storybird does not work, use another application like Google Slides. If you use another application, be sure to post a Works Cited for your visuals.
