Today I celebrate
YOU for beginning your leadership journey!
I am
Mrs. Dettman (pronounced Debt-man) and I will be your instructor for Leadership Development. This course is awesome! We will explore the many definitions of leadership, learn about your leadership style, and consider how to be a better leader in your life and community. Take a look at the Padlet below to start learning about me:
Now it is time for me to begin learning about you! Please take a few minutes to complete the Welcome Survey below:
Summer school with NCVPS is a fast-paced program. An entire 18-week course is taught in just 8 weeks. Because you are covering 15 modules and completing final exam activities in 8 weeks, you will complete 2 modules each week. That means you will spend 3-5 hours each day, Monday through Friday, working on Leadership Development. Just like at a traditional school, there is often work over the weekend, too. You must have daily access to the internet for the duration of summer school. There are no exceptions made for students who attend camps or go on vacations where they do not have access to the internet. You can work on our course at any time from any location during the day or night, 24/7 as long as you pay close attention to the due dates for the assignments, tests, and quizzes. Due dates are posted in the course and can be found online outside of Canvas at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M9yFcOQPDaSEnoEYhk6NUtxITB8WHAXdrXPXwXAyPno/edit?usp=sharing. Be sure to note which assignments are formative (required but do not impact grades) and summative (required and do impact grades).
Important Due Dates:
- NCVPS Getting Started Unit Tuesday, June 19
- Module 1 Wednesday, June 20
- Module 2 Friday, June 22
- Module 3 Wednesday, June 27
- Progress Report Thursday, June 28
- Module 4 Friday, June 29
