How do you empower others from different generations?  Lesson 2 Practice Activity asked you to interview someone from outside of your generation (a millennial from Generation Y) so that you would better understand how that individual thinks and what that individual needs to feel empowered.  Today's assignment asks you to put that information with what you know about your own generation (Generation Z) to create a plan for empowering both generations...through a video game.  Why a video game?  That's simple...Generation Y prefers streaming services Netflix, PCs, and FaceBook while Generation Y prefers video game consoles, tablets, and are more private about what they share online.  While 73% of Gen Zers game, 66% of Gen Yers game -- it is an area where both generations share an avid interest.  The content of your game is the focus of today's assignment...do not get lost in the video game mechanics.  Focus on empowerment.  To learn more about how technology can reach both generations, read an article that outlines how to capture the attention of both generations using social media.  Recognizing what grabs both generations attention will help you design an empowerment game.  Click on the visual below to read the article:

Today's Assignment:
  • Module 14 Lesson 2 Assignment
Module 14 Lesson 2 Assignment - The Empowerment Game
This assignment allows you to combine your understanding of empowerment with your creativity. You will design a video game that chronicles how characters from Generation Y and Z are empowered.  Remember to clearly show your understanding of the differences between the 2 generations and to focus on empowerment.  To do so, you must show different pathways through the game for each generation. Consider the notes about Generation Z (as well as your own ideas since you are one of them!) and your interview with Generation Y - both desire empowerment, but what is the pathway to get them there? Have fun!
