Module 13 is due on Friday.  Since we have 15 modules, you have 3 more (including this one) left to complete!
Check out these tips for going through the lessons:
  • Remember that the notes you read in our course are our textbook -- when you read, read it with meaning. Take notes on the guided notes template. When you write down something you learn, it helps you remember it.
  • Pre-read the directions and the rubric so you know what to look for as you go through the lessons.
  • Make connections to your life as you go through lessons -- if an example or phrase speaks to you, use it to help you complete your assignments.
  • Remember to look for the weekly vocabulary in the lessons as well. They always show up in your post-assessment!

Today's Assignments:
  • Module 13 Lesson 2 Notes and CYK
  • Module 13 Lesson 2 Practice
Module 13 Lesson 2 Notes and CYK
Lesson 2 is about Leadership in Your Local Communities. You will learn about the following topics: LeadingYour Cities and Towns: Mayors, Sheriffs, and Police Chiefs: The Role of Law Enforcement, Town or City Council, The Role of School Board, Community Service: Serving People, Community Service: Serving Animals and the Environment.  When you post the screenshot of your CYK results, be sure to include enough information to identify which one you took.
Module 13 Lesson 2 Practice - Hunt for Local Leaders
As you complete Part 1 of the template, remember to keep up with your resources.  For Part 2, take the time to look around and find the community service - what are people doing to help others?  Then analyze what your community is missing and offer at least 3 examples of possible community services - you will need these for your Lesson Assignment.  In essence, this activity asks you to do a community needs assessment.  To learn more about assessing community needs, click on the image below:
