Today is Day 3 of Module 1.  You should have completed all of the first day assignments, the Getting Started Unit, as well as Module 1 Lesson 1.  Refer to this week's previous announcements as well as messages I sent to your Canvas inbox for a list of to do's.
A few things to remember for success:
  • Take the Welcome Survey found in the Welcome Announcement.  Be sure to complete the last question about your preferred method of communication.
  • Sign-up for Remind by texting @tcdettman to 81010.
  • Be sure you click on the "Learning Modules" quick link when you begin a module. You should go through the entire module page by page like you would read a textbook chapter. The "Modules" button in the left menu is for getting to something specific once you have started/completed the module.

Module 1 Lesson 1, you explored self-reflection and learned why it is the foundation of all leaders - it was "All About You."  In Lesson 2, you will be "Setting Up for Sucess" by focusing on goal-setting and determining your leadership strengths and weaknesses.
Today's Assignments:
  • Module 1 Lesson 2 Notes and Check Your Knowledge
  • Module 1 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
Module 1 Lesson 2 Notes and Check Your Knowledge
Lesson 2 is "Setting Up for Success."  The notes are divided into the following topics:  Identify Your Strengths and Weaknesses, What are goals?, SMART Goals, CLEAR Goals, Leadership Vision.  If you cannot see the notes, follow the directions at the top of the page to enable mixed media.  There is also a video to help you if you learn best with visuals.  At the end of the notes, take the Check Your Knowledge assessment. Then screenshot your results - avoid posting just your score by including enough of the quiz to identify which quiz you took.
Module 1 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
For this activity, you will choose from 2 online leadership assessments - "How Good are Your Skills?" and "What Sort of Leader are You?"  Both assessments will help you assess your strengths and weaknesses.  If you already see yourself as a leader, take the "What Sort..." online quiz. If you are unsure of your leadership skills, take the the "How Good..." online quiz.  Screenshot the results of the quiz you take and post them to Canvas.  Then answer the questions provided in the assignment directions.  Answer all parts of the questions, explain your ideas in detail, reference what you learned in the notes, and use examples from your life.  I encourage you to attach the SMART or CLEAR template you used to complete the last two questions as well.  Use the rubric to guide your work.
