Module 5 is due on Friday. Remember that you are completing Module 5 Lesson 1 Assignment with your assigned group. I saw lots of effective communication yesterday when I checked on each group's homepage - way to go! If you have not checked in with your group yet, do so today.

As you explore the types of relationships leaders have in the face-to-face world, consider how leadership translates to the online world of social media.  Leadership online involves being proactive about what you share on social media.  When it comes to the internet, it is important to remember that anything you put out there is going to be there permanently.  You should apply the same rules to the online world that you apply to the face-to-face world:

• Think before you speak. It may be easier for some people to express feelings and ideas when you are not sitting in front of someone, however, ask yourself if you would say those same things to someone sitting in front of you.  You may feel anonymous, but you are not.  Read everything again before you hit submit or send.
• Avoid oversharing.  Everything you post becomes public knowledge and can be found by parents, employers, and those wishing to harm you.  Would you want your grandmother (or the person you most respect) to read that post or see that picture of you? 
• Be kind. Just like when you comment on a classmate's post in weekly discussion forums, social media interactions should be positive and uplifting.  Make sure what you post and what you comment is supportive and not defeating.  Remember your audience and be respectful.

As you interact with your leadership group this week, remember to apply the tips from the lesson as well as those listed above.

To help you process the types of relationships you learn about in Lesson 2 notes, you will complete a template that asks you to identify each type and to offer a specific strategy for dealing with each type. Remember that leadership is your focus. Your response to a relationship type as a leader may be different than your response in daily life.  For example, in daily life, you may avoid naysayers but as a leader, you have to deal with them at some point. So what can you do as a leader to make that interaction better for you and for the naysayer?
