In Module 1 Lesson 1, you explored self-reflection and learned why it is the foundation of all leaders - it was "All About You."  In Module 1 Lesson 2, you will be "Setting Up for Sucess" by focusing on goal-setting and determining your leadership strengths and weaknesses.
Today's Assignments:
  • Module 1 Lesson 2 Notes - Check Your Knowledge
  • Module 1 Lesson 2 Practice Activity - Strengths and Weaknesses
Module 1 Lesson 2 Notes - Check Your Knowledge
Lesson 2 is "Setting Up for Success."  The notes are divided into the following topics:  Identify Your Strengths and Weaknesses, What are goals?, SMART Goals, CLEAR Goals, Leadership Vision.  If you cannot see the notes, follow the directions at the top of the page to enable mixed media.  There is also a video below to help you if you learn best with visuals.  At the end of the notes, take the Check Your Knowledge assessment. Then screenshot your results - avoid posting just your score by including enough of the quiz to identify which quiz you took.Module 1 Lesson 2 Practice Activity -  Strengths and Weaknesses Analysis
Just as in Lesson 1, what you do for your Lesson 2 Practice Activity will be used to help you will tomorrow's Lesson 2 Assignment.  The more detailed and thorough your practice activity, the easier your assignment will be.  For Module 1 Lesson 2 Practice Activity, start by reading the directions and downloading the template. Then re-read the directions and the rubric - I use the rubric to grade your work so use it to guide and shape your work. Then follow the assignment directions to fill in the template. Here is a break down of Parts I-IV:
    • For Part I of the template, you will choose from 2 online leadership assessments - "How Good are Your Skills?" and "What Sort of Leader are You?"  Both assessments will help you assess your strengths and weaknesses.  If you already see yourself as a leader, take the "What Sort..." online quiz. If you are unsure of your leadership skills, take the "How Good..." online quiz.  Screenshot the results of the quiz you take and add your screenshot to the template.
    • Then analyze your results by answering the questions in Part II.  Answer all parts of the questions, explain your ideas in detail, reference what you learned in the notes, and use examples from your life.
    • For Parts III and IV, you will be planning and create leadership goals.  For the rest of the semester, you will be working on the goals you create.  To be sure you understand what to do, watch the video below about how to create SMART/CLEAR goals.  There are 2 more templates to help you plan your SMART or CLEAR goals - I encourage you to attach the SMART or CLEAR template you used to complete the last two parts to your assignment in Canvas.
