Today's Assignments:
  • Module 15 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK
  • Module 15 Lesson 1 Practice Activity
Module 15 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK
Lesson 1 is Leading When Life Happens. As you explore how leaders handle a crisis, you will learn how a crisis is an opportunity for growth.  The topics for this set of notes include:  Leadership Happens, Being Prepared to Lead, The Need for Cooperation, The Art of Compromise, The Importance of Consistency, The Duty of Carefulness, The United Nations and World Peace, The United Nations and Poverty.  As always, be sure you screenshot your CYK answers and include enough information in the shot so it is easy to identify which quiz you took.

Module 15 Lesson 1 Practice Activity - Leading Through Crisis
In Module 15 Lesson 1 notes, you learned the 4 C's as they relate to effective leadership.  You also learned about the United Nations as a real-world example of a leadership organization that uses the 4 C's to handle crises.  In this practice activity, you will become a member of the UN Security Council and respond to the current Syrian refugee crisis.
Tips:
  • If you are not familiar with the Syrian refugee crisis, use the resources listed in the assignment to research it - if you do not understand the crisis, you cannot complete the practice activity or the assignment so take your time.
  • Learn more about your assigned member nation.  Use the groups from the left menu to view which nation you have been assigned.  Even though you will be assigned the same nation as at least one of your classmates, you are NOT completing the assignment as a group - the group option is just the easiest way to get you the member nations material.  Be sure to read your member nation information with the 4 C's in mind.
  • Complete the practice activity template using what you know about the Syrian refugee crisis as well as your member nation.  Plan carefully - you will use this template to help you with the Lesson 1 Assignment.
