If you need to make-up or complete work...
Make a plan and then work that plan. Choose the thing you need to work on most -- missing work, redoing work, reviewing content, or starting your final exam activities. Then make a list of everything you hope to accomplish this week. Divide the list into manageable pieces and set up a schedule. Here is a recommended schedule for dividing the modules in order to make-up, redo and/or review Modules 1-15:
- Tuesday - Modules 1-4
- Wednesday - Modules 4-7
- Thursday - Modules 8-11
- Friday - Modules 12-15
- Monday - Start Module Final Exam Activities
- Review the announcements for the module. Each day includes an explanation for the assigned work as well as tips for being successful. See the attachment to remind you which assignments are posted on which day of the week.
- Read the directions and the rubric before beginning your work. Then use the rubric as your check before you submit.
- If an application does not work (i.e. Prezi, Padlet), let me know and I can recommend fixes and/or alternatives. Be sure to contact me before deviating from the original format.
- Focus on the lesson notes that come before the practice and the assignment. Each activity is designed specifically for that content so in order to get credit, you must use the notes.
- Remember to connect everything to leadership. For example, decision-making from Module 7 should focus on leadership decisions and not just life decisions.
Step 1: Review archived announcements for interactive module reviews as well as tips (ex. how to handle exam anxiety).
Step 2: Familiarize yourself with the 3 assignments before you begin working. Final Exam Activities Module Assignments are weighted equally and include the following:
- Leadership CV/Cover Letter - you will use what you have learned as well as the work you have completed in the course to create YOUR own leadership CV (curriculum vitae). Your leadership CV (a detailed resume - it requires more than just lists of things) will include your current leadership goals, skills, positions, mission, etc. and will also include at least 3 work samples from your Leadership Development coursework. There are detailed directions as well as a detailed rubric in the assignment to help you:) Use the template to PLAN your CV and then create your CV using an application of your choice (Word, Google, Canva, etc.). Once your CV is complete, write a cover letter that meets the assignment requirements. **You have written a resume as well as a cover letter in our course before...now you are creating for YOU!
- Empowering Others Discussion Board - you will share your philosophy, your progress, and your fears with your classmates one last time and send them off feeling empowered. Be sure to use your leadership skills to create an awesome post and to craft quality replies to at least 3 of your classmates. There are detailed directions as well as a detailed rubric in the assignment to help you:)
- Final Exam Multiple Choice Assessment - You will showcase your content knowledge by taking a traditional final exam. It has 50 questions (a mixture of true/false and multiple choice). You will have ONE attempt at this exam.
Step 3: Prepare for the final exam activities before you begin any work.
To prepare for the leadership CV/cover letter and discussion board, do the following:
- Go back to Modules 1 and 2 - review your assignments and look at where you started.
- Then go through the course and choose your favorite assignments and/or the assignments that show your growth.
- Think about the kind of leaders you have met this semester - which ones do you want to model? Review those leaders in the lessons in which you studied them.
To review the lessons and prepare for your final exam multiple choice assessment, you can do the following:
- Go back through each module and re-read Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 notes for each module.
- Review Tuesday and Friday announcements to see the overview of each module posted. It is the same information as the lesson notes but in a different format.
