Today's Assignments:
  • Module 11 Lesson 2 CYK/Notes
  • Module 11 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
Module 11 Lesson 2 CKY/Notes
Lesson 2 is Mission Possible.  The notes include the following topics:  What is a mission?, What is a mission statement?, Parts of a Mission Statement, Mission Statement for Vestergaard Frandsen, Mission Statement for the US State Department, A Personal Mission Statement, Parts of a Personal Mission Statement, Sample Personal Mission Statement, Another Sample Personal Mission Statement.  After you complete the notes and the CYK, take a moment to check your screenshot to be sure it includes enough information to identify which quiz you completed.
Module 11 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
Lesson 2 introduces you to mission statements and presents them as tools for being a visionary leader.  For the Lesson 2 Practice Activity, you will work with your Module 11 Group to complete a group mission statement.
Module 11 Lesson 2 Practice Activity is your second group activity.  Your group will create a specialized mission statement using what you have learned about mission statements in Module 11 as well as what you learned about successful group work in Module 5.  A few notes about this group activity...
  • Your group members for Module 11 are different than your group members for Module 5.
  • The mission statement template is in the module assignment directions and is attached to the mission statement discussion board assignment.
  • There are 2 discussion boards ready for you to use:  Peer Preferences and Food Drive Mission Statement.  Peer Preferences prompts you to share your group preferences from Module 5 so that you can get to know your new group members.  Mission Statement for Food Drive prompts you to create a group mission statement and uses the same directions as the module assignment.
  • You can collaborate within your group homepage using Google Drive and/or discussion boards.  You can collaborate outside of Canvas using email and/or text.
Tips:
  • Be sure to review your group work preferences before you begin.
  • Use your group's homepage to post your template rough draft and to discuss how to fill it out.
  • When you add an idea to your group's template, use a different color font and put your initials beside it. Make sure your participation is clear.
  • Remember only one member of your group needs to post the completed mission statement template BUT all group members need to participate.
