Got Group Work?  Remember that there is a group activity in Module 11.  I created new groups (called Module 11 Groups) for this activity.
  • Be proactive and contact your group members early so that you are not scrambling to complete your work at the end of next week's module.
  • For information about groups in Canvas, review the group work smore found at https://www.smore.com/nhp78 (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.
  • When you access your group homepages next week, you will have 2 discussions boards in place to get you started - one for sharing your group preferences and one for the group mission statement assignment.  The template your group should use is attached to the Food Drive Mission Statement discussion as well as with the original lesson.  Remember if you all have gmails, you can use the collaboration feature.
  • Good luck and have fun!  Let me know if you have any questions.
Got Resources?  NCPVS provides lots of resources outside of our course to support you.  For virtual help from a peer, go to the Peer Tutoring Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. For technology issues, issue a help desk ticket with the Virtual Support Center (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. To learn more about the world around you, attend a Culture Cafe (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. session. Click on the visual below to explore all of the resources NCVPS provides to you:

Today's Assignment:
  • Module 10 Lesson 2 Assignment
Module 10 Lesson 2 Assignment - Build a Leader Discussion Board
You made your Lesson 1 "Leading Me" practice(s) public by sharing them with someone you admire; for Lesson 2, you will make your "Leading Others" practice public by sharing with your classmates. To advertise your "Leading Me" and "Leading Others" practice(s), make a poster that includes at least one of each -- one "me" practice and one "others" practice. Then make your practices public by posting your poster to the discussion board.
Tips for Poster:
  • On your poster, include an image, a detailed explanation, and specific action steps you will take for each practice.
  • Then put a timeline on your poster that addresses at least one of your "me" or "others" practice (I encourage you to include both so that your plan is clear with dates).
  • Use an application that you are familiar with or try a new one -- Canva, Posterini, and Piktochart are awesome and easy to use!
  • Don't forget your timeline! Be specific so you will be more likely to follow-through! Set dates so you know when to reflect on and when to respond to your practice.
Tips for Reply
  • Remember to reply to at least one of your classmates with a quality reply that affirms your classmate's poster and offers encouragement for next steps.
  • Be sure you address one of the R's.
  • As always, your reply must reference the assignment - what can you share from the lesson to support your classmate as he/she continues to grow?
  • Be sure your reply is more than "I agree," "I like," or "Looks good." Review quality replies at https://www.smore.com/gqv59.
