Catch-Up Week Day 5 - Monday, October 15 EARLY

Catch-Up week ends today. I hope you took advantage of your time this week and were able to get a few things off your to-do list. If you have followed the schedule I have been posting each day, today you will begin Module 9.

Here is one student's personal reflection of the course so far...
"In Module 1 and 2 I was very nervous. After I learned to navigate the class I was more at ease. I really enjoyed the Scenario traits in Module Two. It gave me a chance to think outside the box on different scenarios. I was able to look at the ten leadership traits, (integrity, discipline, perseverance, commitment, empowerment, communication, confidence, empathetic, creative and delegation ) and get a clear picture of how they go together. I loved getting the actual definition of a lot of our words in Module Three. This gave me a better understanding of the words and better relate when figuring out where I fell. Getting a glimpse of things that waste your time was an eye opener for me as well. It was nice to be able to lay down some short and long-term goals for myself. It was also nice to see where my times goes and how I can manage it better. My favorite was learning about my leadership style. Who knew there were so many styles. In Module % it was hard to communicate with my group. I sent two messages to two of my team members. For whatever reason, we had a hard time communicating. I enjoyed making the cartoon. I had the chance to make a firefighter cartoon. That was a lot of fun. In Module Six we got to explore speeches and break them down. We got to see what the speaker's goals were, what the opening body looked like and how the conclusion looked. Module Seven was about how to go through the decision making progress. It was great giving ideas for each of our words. Looking at the differences on paper made it a lot easier to understand. Module Eight was very informative. We got to read about global political leaders and United States leaders. It was fun being able to pick ones and research them. This gave us a chance to better understand their role and look for traits that we have learned so far. this has been a great class so far! I have loved every Module but my favorite so far is Module 8. I loved learning about different leaders.”
What advice to students give other students for staying on track after Catch-Up Week?

• "I would tell them...to make sure to manage their time well in order to complete the module."
• "...they should keep studying and remake assignments that they didn't do well on so that they will get a better grade and a better understanding of the topic."
• "I would tell them to never give up. They should try their best and never procrastinate. Hard work always pays off."
