Got Discussion Boards? You have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers in several discussion boards and group assignments this semester. Discussion boards are usually a favorite of students because they learn how other students see the content and how it applies to their lives. Replies to classmates should show your understanding of what your classmate said and then offer affirmation and/or advice related to the week's content and your life experience. Back up your ideas in your replies the same way you would back up your ideas in your assignments -- state evidence and explain it. Devon Haynie said it best in his article for US News:
Today's Assignments:
- Module 4 Lesson 2 Notes - Check Your Knowledge
- Module 4 Lesson 2 Practice Assignment

Module 4 Lesson 2 Practice Assignment - Challenge to Integrity Discussion Board
One way to learn about leading with integrity is to learn from your peers. This assignment requires you to write a reflection, post it to the discussion board, and then reply to at least one classmate.
Tips for Your Reflection:
- State the integrity principle your challenge relates to - competition, disunity, etc.
- Be sure you answer all of the questions and offer specific examples so that your understanding is clear to me as well as your classmates.
- Be sure you are writing at least 150 words -- if you are answering all of the questions and offering examples, you will have written more!
- Think about your reflections before you write them. Did you address all parts of the prompt? Did you explain your ideas fully? Did you connect your ideas to the lesson? How does the prompt relate to your leadership journey? How does it relate to your life?
- Review your post before you submit.
Tips for Your Replies:
- Take time to read what your classmates wrote. Remember that your classmates' replies will not show up until you have posted your own work first. You are required to respond to one classmate for this discussion board, however, most students end up responding to more -- part of leadership development is discussing ideas and supporting other leaders.
- Be sure your reply addresses the integrity principle your classmate wrote about in his/her challenge to integrity post.
- Follow the rubric for writing a quality reply - use the "Got Quality Replies" posted below to help you.
- As with anything you post in our course, review your reply before you submit.
