You have completed your first module in Leadership Development - congrats! Module 1 was due last night. Today I will post zeros for any missing Module 1 work. Zeros are placeholders in our course - you may redo any module assignment/activity and you may turn in missing owrk for a late penalty. Module 2 is due Friday.
Got missing work? Sign-up for Remind by texting @tcdettman to 81010 and you will not miss a due date! But if you do...be sure you understand the NCVPS late work policy -- 10 points off for 1 week late (starting the minute after the due date passes), 20 points off for 2 weeks late, and then 50 points after the second week. Remember that those points are deducted after the work is graded.
Important Due Dates:
- Module 2 Friday, June 22
- Module 3 Wednesday, June 27
- Progress Report Thursday, June 28
- Module 4 Friday, June 29
Today's Assignments:
- Module 2 Lesson 2 Notes
- Module 2 Lesson 2 Practice Activity
- Module 2 Lesson 2 Assignment
- Module 2 Post-Assessment
Module 2 Lesson 2 Notes
Lesson 2 is "Leadership Traits." The notes include the following topics: Integrity, Discipline, Perseverance, Commitment, Empowering, Communication, Confidence, Empathy, Creativity, Delegate, Reflection. After you take the CYK, be sure to post a screenshot that includes as much of the quiz as you can include -- that way I see your score and which quiz you took. You might be surprised that some students post the same score screenshot for each CYK instead of taking the quizzes.
Module 2 Lesson 2 Practice Activity - Earth Colony: Who Shall Go?
The year is 2250 and the planet Earth has become too crowded. Millions of people are starving. Millions do not have homes. The U.S. Congress has decided to send you and 99 others to live in a colony in space. If the first space colony is a success, others will be built. Can you survive in space? Can you keep the colony alive? How would you handle this life happening? Open the Who Shall Go Practice Activity. Carefully read the scenario. Use the leadership traits from Lesson 2 to fill out the jobs, people, and analysis charts. Be specific and chose leadership traits with purpose. Good luck choosing who shall go!
Module 2 Lesson 2 Assignment - Earth Colony Discussion Board
For Lesson 1 Practice, you completed a template to help you decide who should go to Earth's colony on Mars. This assignment asks you to post your decision to the class discussion board and then to reply to at least 3 classmates. Be sure your post is detailed and addresses the prompt - your classmates cannot reply to your post if it is not complete. Your replies are very important because they should affirm your classmates' ideas as well as connect those ideas to the leadership traits from Lesson 2 notes. Be sure to read the directions as well as the rubric carefully. Each reply must show common ground, cooperation, and compromise. If you need help with quality replies, go to https://www.smore.com/gqv59. Tip: For discussions, click the settings wheel in the top right corner to see rubric.
