Welcome to Final Exam Week! Your final exam activities module is open and is due Friday, June 1Final Exam Activities Module Assignments are weighted equally and include the following:
  • Leadership CV/Cover Letter - you will use what you have learned as well as the work you have completed in the course to create YOUR own leadership CV (curriculum vitae). Your leadership CV (a detailed resume) will include your current leadership goals, skills, positions, mission, etc. and will also include at least 3 work samples from your Leadership Development coursework. There are detailed directions as well as a detailed rubric in the assignment to help you:)   Use the template to PLAN your CV and then create your CV using an application of your choice (Word, Google, Canva, etc.).  Once your CV is complete, write a cover letter that meets the assignment requirements.  **You have written a resume as well as a cover letter in our course before...now you are creating for YOU!
  • Empowering Others Discussion Board - you will share your philosophy, your progress, and your fears with your classmates one last time and send them off feeling empowered. Be sure to use your leadership skills to create an awesome post and to craft quality replies to at least 3 of your classmates. There are detailed directions as well as a detailed rubric in the assignment to help you:)
  • Final Exam Multiple Choice Assessment - You will showcase your content knowledge by taking a traditional final exam. It has 50 questions (a mixture of true/false and multiple choice). You will have ONE attempt at this exam.
* Remember that NCVPS weights your final exam activities as 20% of your final grade.  Your school has the final say in the percentages they use on your report card.

In Module 8, you created a leadership resume for an American leader.  For your final exam, you will create a curriculum vitae (CV) for YOURSELF.  So what is the difference between a resume and CV?  Check out the visual below:

Today's Assignment:
  • Part I:  Leadership CV and Cover Letter
Leadership CV and Cover Letter
Be sure to read the directions carefully. Note what needs to be turned in - your completed reflection template, your leadership CV, your cover letter, and 3 work samples.  Then get started.
  • As the directions state, start by completing your reflection template - you will use what you write to help you complete your CV (it is your planning).
  • Then chose a format for your CV.  Since a CV is just a detailed resume, choose a resume template that gives you space to add explanations.  As with any format, be sure to remove the parts you do not need and rename the parts you use according to the assignment directions (i.e. leadership skills, work samples, etc.).
  • Write your CV.  Use what you planned on the reflection template. Offer specific examples that showcase your leadership development from inside as well as outside of the course.  Choose 3 work samples (i.e. assignments from the course) that showcase your leadership development.  You may link the work samples in your CV or attach them separately when you post - don't forget to discuss them in your CV.  Remember to read for content and then to proofread when you are finished.
  • Write your cover letter.  As the directions state, you are applying for the job of 21st-century leader.  Sell yourself as a great leader now as well as a leader with potential for the future.  Offer specific examples for each paragraph (follow the format in the directions).
  • Post all the pieces required.
* Read last week's announcements - there are a few resources included to help you with resumes and cover letters.
