Today's Assignments:
  • Module 13 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK
  • Module 13 Lesson 1 Practice
Module 13 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK
Module 13 Lesson 1 is North Carolina State Leadership.  Do you know any past state leaders in NC? Do you know the names of your state representatives? Your justices? Your governor?  This lesson looks at leadership in NC.  When you complete your CYK, be sure you screenshot enough information to identify which quiz you are taking.
Module 13 Lesson 1 Practice
This assignment begins with researching your state leaders.  Be sure you are finding state leaders and not national leaders who represent your state (hint:  Richard Burr is a US Senator who represents NC but he is not an NC State Legislator in the NC Senate).  Then use what you have learned about state leadership as well as leadership, in general, to reply to a quote as if you are a state leader.  Be sure your reflection identifies and explains why you choose to be a representative/senator, justice, or governor. Use information from the lesson to show you understand what you learned about state positions.   Then apply your leadership skills to the Dorothea Dix quotation. Remember that your reflection will help you prepare for tomorrow's assignment - thinking like a state leader will help you become a state activist.
