Module 7 begins today and is due Friday.  As we get closer to the midpoint of our course, note the following ideas:

• You may redo any assignment at any time.  
• There is not a midterm for Leadership Development.  
• After Module 8, you have a Catch-Up Week.  There will not be new material that week so that you can go back and complete/tweek previous assignments.

Module 7 is Effective Decision-Making in Leadership. In this module, you will learn why decision-making is a non-negotiable leadership skill.  As you explore the content, consider trying one of the strategies outlined in the notes to make your next leadership decision. As always, remember to look at the big picture and consider the consequences for you but most importantly for your followers. Module 7 Pre-Assessment
Do you best and answer each question honestly. Taking the pre-assessment will trigger any prior knowledge you have about decision-making.
Module 7 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK
Lesson 1 is "How to Be an Effective Decision-Maker."  Topics include the parts of decision-making: Decision, Chance, Bias, Consistency, Consensus, Transparency, Proactive, Reactive, Risk. Complete the Guided Notes handout provided in the notes as you go through the notes - you can use your notes as you complete your activities as well as to help you study for the post-assessment and final exam. Pay attention to main ideas and details.
Module 7 Lesson 1 Practice Activity - Decisions, Decisions, Decisions 

Today you will offer examples and non-examples of decision-making concepts. An example is something that a leader did or would do to show that concept while a non-example is something a leader did do or would do to go against that concept. Be sure to fully explain your examples so it is clear you understand the content. If you do not have examples from your own leadership, use some you have observed or use your creativity to create examples.   The goal of the assignment is to apply decision-making to real-world leadership so choose relevant leadership examples and non-examples.  What would a leader do?  What other leadership traits could a leader use to make decisions?  Communication? Integrity?
