Module 6 is Communication in Leadership. Last week, you learned about effective communication in groups. This week you will continue exploring communication and see how it affects the ways you speak informally and formally to others.
Today's Assignments:
- Module 6 Pre-Assessment
- Module 6 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK Quiz
- Module 6 Lesson 1 Practice Activity
Take a few minutes to complete the pre-assessment so that you get a feel for how much you understand about the module topic. When you access your prior knowledge of a topic, it is easier for you to learn new ideas about it.
Module 6 Lesson 1 Notes and CYK Quiz
The quiz should work (Lesson 1 and 2 were fixed by our tech team last week) but if Lesson 1 does not, go ahead and complete your guided notes so you have them ready as a back-up. Come back to the quiz tomorrow and try again - be sure to screenshot enough of your quiz so that I can identify which quiz you took. Our quizzes are one of the side effects of the conversion from one server to another this summer -- thank you for your continued patience!
Module 6 Lesson 1 Practice Activity - Types of Communication
Using the information from the notes and from your life as a leader, compose a well-developed response to the prompt. Be sure to answer all parts and to explain your ideas in detail. Refer to the notes so that it is clear you understand the lesson. Remember to address communication as it relates to being a leader. Then post your response to the Types of Communication discussion board. Once you post, read and reply to one or more of your classmate's posts.
Before posting any of your assignments, ask yourself the following questions:
- Did I follow all instructions found in the directions as well as in the rubric?
- Did I completely answer the questions?
- Do I clearly reflect that I understand and am thinking about the topic as it relates to leadership? Did I use any weekly vocab?
- Do I clearly reflect that I am applying the topic to my life and my leadership development --asking questions, giving examples, etc.?
