Shout out to Emily for posting quality work and staying in touch with me!  She continues to impress me with her leadership and her politeness!
A very special shout out to Jarek! He truly embraced his leadership journey in Lesson 2 and posted quality, detailed answers to the questions about the article.

Week 3 is due Friday.  Thank you for the great Windshield Checks -- keep them coming!
Weeks 1 and 2 will not be counted late.  For missing work, I will be using zeros as placeholders -- once you turn in the missing Week 1 or Week 2 work, I will replace the zero with your earned grade.
Are you reading announcements daily?  If not, your missing out!  If you did not read Monday's Daily Announcement, go back and read it -- Monday announcements include explanations of the week's assignments and will guide you to post quality work.
Need reminders of due dates? To help you keep up with deadlines, use your course calendar. Click on View Calendar in the far right column of our homepage. You can also use your checklists. On the second page of each module, you will find a checklist of assignments for that module/week. Another way to keep up is to sign up for Remind texts/emails.  To sign up for early calendar (EC) reminders, text @tcdettman to 81010.
Logging in for the first time?  Be sure to read the Daily Announcements from the last 2 weeks so you know what to do to get started.
Ready, set, lead!

According to Beth Schaefer, recipient of the 2016 EDUCAUSE Community Leadership Award, " To become a leader, take note of the opportunities around you and reach out to others. When you purposefully work toward building relationships and creating communities, you'll become an effective leader—both for yourself and for others."

How do you maintain and build strong relationships?  Here is Schaefer's advice:
  1. Ask questions, really listen, and develop a mutual commitment.
  2. Encourage others to take a chance.
  3. Develop your own communication skills and in turn help others to develop theirs.
  4. Make sure that you and your expectations are understood will benefit everyone.
What have you learned from this week's content that will help you accomplish these goals?  At the end of a week, reflect on your leadership journey and set goals for your next steps.  Then look at how the next weeks of content can help you.  For example, you will explore time management in Week 4 -- how can time management help you with relationships?

Before posting any of your assignments, ask yourself the following questions:
a. Did I follow all instructions?
b. Did I completely answer the questions?
c. Do I clearly reflect that I understand and am thinking about the topic?  Did I use any weekly vocab?
d. Do I clearly reflect that I am applying the topic to my life--asking questions, giving examples, etc.?
