Welcome to Week 3!  Week 3 began Monday and is due on Friday.   As Josh Hinds said, "Doing what's expected of you can make you good, but it's the time you spend going above and beyond what's required that makes you great!"  To get the most of our course and truly work on your leadership journey, embrace the announcements, the feedback, and the assignments.
I did not send grade reports to parents last week as I originally planned because so many of you got a late start due to weather or other circumstances.  I will be sending one this week to parents as well as to schools.  For missing work, I will be using zeros as placeholders -- once you turn in the missing Week 1 or Week 2 work, I will replace the zero with your earned grade.  As promised, I will not count Week 1 or 2 work as late.
Starting in Week 4, I will leave 3 weeks open at a time -- the previous week, the current week, and the upcoming week.  All other weeks will be closed so be sure to use your time wisely while weeks are open!
Ready, learn, lead!

As you learn about collaboration this week, consider David Logan's ideas about tribal leadership. Which tribe does the cartoon above represent?  Watch his talk (it is fast-paced and he uses real world examples...you might even laugh!) and text/message me the tribe you belong to and the tribe you want to belong to:
Week 3 Assignment Tips:
Word Cloud - If Wordle does not load, open the alternatives document. If the alternatives do not load, contact me:)  Remember to use at least 20 words.
Relationship Questions - Before you read the article, read the 5 questions you will need to answer. After reading the article, answer each question in complete sentences. Be you fully answer the question and offer examples to explain your ideas.
Inner Circle Questions - Assignment 3.3 asks you to consider the important of creating an “inner circle" or what should be a solid team of supporters around you. The material addresses some of the common mistakes made as well as why you should create the strongest team possible. While some of this may sound foreign or strange to you, think about what it means to have a weak link or someone who only tells you what you want to hear rather than what the truth may be. Get started and be sure to answer the questions in a thoughtful, comprehensive manner.
Relationship Reflection - As you answer the 4 questions, fully explain your ideas and offer specific examples. Students often leave #4 unanswered by saying they do not have a relationship on which to work however everyone has a relationship that needs work.
Your Leadership Type - You will take an abbreviated test based on the Myers-Briggs to determine how you take in information and how you make decisions. The idea of your personality evolving around these functions first came from Carl Jung. He believed that our senses and our intuition influence how we take in information and that logic and feelings influence our decision-making. This test will tell you your dominant functions.
Shidle Journal - Read the quote and use what you have learned this week as well as your life experience to answer the questions. Be sure to meet the 150 word requirement and to answer each question fully.
