Week 8 is due on Friday. Windshield Checks are due today.
Our course ends Friday, August 12. If you are behind, you need to make a plan and catch up. If you wish to finish early, go ahead and look at Weeks 17 & 18 so you are mentally preparing for your final exam activities. You got this!
Leadership is a journey. As any class, you have to embrace the content and follow the directions. Here are a few tips to help you get FULL credit for your assignments:
- Answer the questions that are asked. For the "Leadership So Far" assignment, avoid losing points because you did not follow directions. Instead of 1 leader in your life, 1 national leader, and 1 international leader, many students write about 3 leaders from their life.
- Answer all of the questions. For the "A Life that Counts" assignment, the first question asked you to state what Maxwell meant by "all relationships involve transference" and then to explain why you agreed or disagreed with his idea. Many students do not define his statement and just write "I agree" without explaining anything.
- Use complete sentences. For the "Eat the Frog" discussion forum, many students list their frogs without explaining them. Phrases and/or one word answers are fine for texting, but you are posting in a classroom so be sure you are writing complete sentences.
- Do your best work. For multiple assignments, students are just going through the motions. For the "Learning Styles" assignment, many students do not post results and then used vague statements to answer the questions. I need to see that you not only took the quiz, but that you took the time to read about your results. If you have taken a similar or even the same quiz before, discuss how your answers may have changed or why they stayed the same. Saying "I didn't really learn anything new" is not enough.
- Read my feedback! I have been attaching graphics to your assignments to help you improve your work. Just as you should be reading the text, you should be reading my feedback. Here are those graphics again:
- Use your resources. If you get stuck on an assignment, text, message or email me and I will help you! The Peer Tutoring Center is available as well. Just click the quick link on our home page!
A big shout out to Caleb H. for his perseverance and using his resources (even if one of those resources is his mother!).
Way to go, Iliana! She has a very busy life and when she felt overwhelmed, she reached out to me so I could support her.
